Hello all! I have not been active on here recently until something attacked one of my hens. What I assume was a fox, had seemingly either take a bite out of her thigh/side or ripped it open? I quickly put together a solitary place for her and doused her bite with saline, then betadine. I covered the area with gauze and vet wrapped her whole abdomen. I have no idea if this was the best way to go about this, this happened yesterday morning, and today it actually looked a lot better than it did yesterday. I did not expect her to make it through the night. Today she was walking, eating, drinking, pooping and she even layed an egg. I will include pictures. Any help is greatly appreciated thank you!!!!!!

Only thing I would add to your current regiment is to make sure you're keeping it moist with an antibiotic (pain reliever free) ointment.

Neosporin is a great ointment for almost any wound. Slather it on pretty thick, then bandage it like you're doing and she should be healed up pretty quickly. Years ago I had a hen that got attacked by the neighbors dog and she had a wound almost identical to your hens except it was on her back. I was new to chickens and never thought about putting a bandage on it. I just kept it clean and slathered with neosporin and she healed fine. I hope your hen does too.
