Granny's gone and done it again

We have 50 give or take new CCLegbar chicks in the brooder along with 2 White Jersey Giant chicks. A few more CCL chicks to hatch. A couple zipping now and several pipped. Delaying meds to late as I want to keep moving them to the brooder as soon as they are dried off good and moving around exploring their surroundings.

Wow! I wasn't expecting there to be that many! Are they sexable at hatch?

Wow! I wasn't expecting there to be that many! Are they sexable at hatch?

Yes. Within 90% I'd say. A few are hard to be sure about. Females looked like little chipmunks. Males now striping. Some have light striping and little striping. Those I'm not sure about.

Next project is to create a new large green egg layer. I hope to acquire CCL male chicks from Greenfire Farms from their Exhibition flock to breed my pullets to. If they have them hatching in late may or June I'll order 6.
