So my mixed eggs chicks are 11 days old, I've got most of them figured out but I need some expert advice on a couple. I've got day 3 and day 11 pictures along with a link to what I'm guessing it might be. I have 2 chicks each of these odd colors. My current flock has EB, Fawn, Pharoah, fee, Blau, tuxedo, and roux and I think I've got those combos figured out, but these guys are completely new! I could just wait another couple weeks but I'm rather impatient!

Jumbo Pansy is my guess, though the chicks don't look right. Thought the chicks looked pharaoh-ish but a bit more yellow or a really really thick striped Italian. Now that it is feathering out it looks a bit pharaoh-ish but has the Italian beige coloration. Any brilliant ideas? It really doesn't look pharaoh or Italian though.

American Pansy is my guess, thought jumbo pansy was what the chick looked closest to with that black dot over the ear hole, otherwise sort of a reddish pharaoh with minimal stripes. Feathers are coming in mostly black (a little red) with white tips. I really have no idea, but I really like this color and hope I got a couple! Thanks!

Wait until 4 weeks to call color (or sex!)! The American pansy was spot on, but those are not jumbo pansy, rather they are calico and boys to boot. I also have a real black quail in this hatch, thought he was Tibetan but he’s also a mutant but it doesn’t breed true anyway (except with another black). Had I thought a Grau fee but it now has white wing tips so probably silver EB, will keep if female. My so called Egyptian has red eyes which means cinnamon, and though female is kind of delicate so won’t keep either. My dark and stormy bird just crowed so he’s out (another that doesn’t breed true with outside birds). It has been interesting seeing what these mixed chicks turn into but besides the male American pansy I didn’t end up with any awesome replacement males, strangely I got a much better selection in a batch of 13 chicks I hatched 2 months ago from my own eggs, I ended up keeping 10 as replacements!
