Mislabeled Tractor Supply/Feed Store Chicks

Glad you knew what you were looking at, but I can only imagine what the reaction of other customers will be when they find that their "chicken" gobbles!

My feed store is good about keeping an eye on the chick area to make sure people aren't grabbing at them or moving them around, so no mislabeling so far on chicks, though the started pullets/cockerels area is a whole other issue, as they have all the birds running around together.
Yes, and eats a ton of feed and now weighs 50lbs!

We bought our four as day old chicks from TSC. There were only three choices, though: RIR, Black sex link, or buff orps. If you wanted any others, you had to order them through their catalog and they would ship to the store. The workers at ours all seem pretty knowledgeable, though. I have looked up info that they gave me, and it was accurate. I know the TSC here is really popular with the farming community, while the small feed store in town is not.

Well, I can't say I have really been totally misled by TSC, but in March there were some cute chicks with feathered feet, only 5 left, and one was really cute, I liked the coloring, it had feathered feet, thought it might be some kind of Cochin, TSC said they didn't know what they were, but made me buy 4 of them to get that 1 even though i had chicks in the brooder at home. The tiny one I didn't buy, I saw them throw into the bantam bin. They turned out to be buff brahmas, 3 were roosters, and I didn't mark the one I thought was so cute and don't even know which rooster it is anymore. But one of them has become troublesome and won't let the others eat and drink, so that one will soon go to freezer camp. Note to self, resist cute mystery chicks at TSC.
