MJ's little flock

I am in a very different place from you on that one.
A painless end is a service I feel I owe my chickens if nature doesn’t manage it for them.
I just wish I had someone who would perform that service for me when my suffering exceeds my joy.
It is not to do with contagious disease - that ship has sailed in most cases - it is to do with pain and suffering.
Precisely.

Culling chickens with Mareks is in my opinion very short sighted.
She's not being culled. She's being euthanised because of her paralysis.

The other two who've been sharing her coop and came from the same place haven't been tested but would have Marek's. They're also not being culled. Or euthanized (at this time).

I didn't take on board that she was paralysed.:hugs

No worries. I've been sharing a torrent of info lately.

She struggles to control her legs and it's going to worsen as the disease progresses.

It's best to euthanise her now before she suffers excessively. I'm going to give those three a warm vegetarian pasty today so her last day is a joyous one.
