My silkie rooster I’ve had for almost 2 years has never mated with any of my hens and they are almost a year old themselves….

It sounds like they settled the pecking order back then and he might be on the bottom. Maybe he's still apprehensive of mating the hens for fear of getting a whooping?

I have 2 different breeds black sex link and red sex link and he is a silkie but that usually doesn’t stop chickens from getting their Gigidy on that’s how you get cross breeds on accident lmao I’ve seen a tiny bantam try to mount a Brahma hen lol

I just read theres a likelyhood of a hen preferring roos of her own breed. But if the hens are going for the roo but the roo just isn't doing anything my guess probably because the pecking order is set and he gave up or he has a few loose marbles lol Anyways hopefully you find a way to get him to breed. Perhaps does anyone you know have any hens you could maybe try seeing if an outside hen would interest him? Not saying get rid of him and get more hens but just see if the pecking order is an issue by borrowing or seeing if being off familiar ground will inspire his need to produce offspring?
