Nick's Flock Thread

So for my zombie breeding plan, I will breed on of my dominant white hens to my ayam roo. She is not pure, but half leghorn and half gamebird. Since she only carries on copy of dominant white, 50% of her chicks will be dominant white. She has a pea comb but carries the recessive gene for single combs, so 50/50 will have single and pea. I will keep the single-combed dominant white hens that have black skin, and cull the rest, and breed the keepers back to their dad. Then I will go from their to try to get true color zombies.

Okay, so I have 14 eggs to go into lockdown today. Well, 13 now, since one of them already hatched really early. After these are all hatched, i'm gonna put 9 chicken eggs and 3 turkey eggs in there and start a hatch-long for them. I think I'm gonna give the little bambino that already hatched to one of my broodies.

A lot of things have changed since I last posted. I need to do an inventory on exactly what I have. I think I have an ayam cemani roo, 6 mutt hens, a buff brahma hen, a GLW hen, a buff orp hen, an OE pullet, an OE cockerel and an Ameraucana cockerel. The two adult turkeys, plus two poults I hatched from them. I have around 10 chicks too, I think. I still have the adult button quail and 10 of their chicks. This will change a lot just in the next month.
