Oops, that’s not a pullet!

I don’t think it has a beard. But it’s very young. Notice the size comparison with Mrs Coopscraft’s hand.

If it was a cuckoo maran

if it’s a cuckoo maran, what kind of hens will he sire? What kind of hens should he breed with to make his daughters productive layers of colorful eggs?
He is light, so he has two copies of cuckoo. All offspring will be cuckoo with other colors mixed in depending on the hen he breeds with.

If you want his daughters to lay colorful eggs, breed him to a PUREBRED Legbar, Ameraucana or Araucana.

Laying production has an extremely low heritability of 20% or less. It would take over 7 generations to make any impact in amount of eggs laid.

I had a cpouple of olive eggers dad was a Blue Jersy Giant, hens were a barred rock and a Gold laced Wyandette

The barred rock hen of the pairing produced a grey check that grew up looking more like the sapphire gems, while the Gold laced in that combo produced a black hen that has some pretty colors mixed in when hit right by the light

That doesn't produce olive eggers. Not even close.

You need a blue egg gene in one parent for that.
