Five days straight we've got a fox coming up the hill from the creek, walking past our breeding pens and garden, to cross the road to visit the farm there.

So I call the farm lady. She knows as she's got "her" on camera too. She's seen this fox killing a rat. She has a rat problem, and the fox is taking care of it. Well, that's all great, but ya'll know what I'm fearing!

We'd like to get the fox to not use our trail, but find another way to go from the creek to her place across the road.

When urinating outside doesn't immediately freeze, hubby's going to do that all over the trail. We're going to put a radio blasting over there and another solar motion light. We're trying to get the fox to find a different way over to her place instead of using our path past the chickens. The fox could not get at our chickens at night, but they could hers and don't, presumably because it's feasting on rats. She thinks it's killing pigeons in her barn, too, as she's caught her in there twice.

During the day, our dogs are out and about, and this wouldn't happen. I've had other video of during the day, and our dogs chased it off, so it must've learned that at night it can pass safely. This trail is about 2 acres away from the dog houses.

Anyone have ideas of other tricks to get her to not use our path?

Wolf Decoy maybe?

Omg that’s so unfortunate! I usually just shoot bullets when I see them and hope to scare them off. I also have a dog who is outside a lot and she makes a lot of noise and scares off fox. I hope they don’t get your silkies! Double check all ur runs and coops and barn and don’t free range untill yu haven’t seen it for a week at least. Worked for me :)

Have you ever heard of Nite Guards? They use a red flashing light to intimidate any creature at night, thus keeping them away. (They'll keep just about any night creature away, including coyotes and owls too.) Perhaps put the Nite Guards along your path so she won't use it anymore?

Same, just shoot bullets and the loud noise will scare them off.

This is btwn 2:00 a.m. and 6 a.m., and far from the house. We shoot a shotgun in the air to scare bear away, but it won't work for this fox.

Never heard of those, so looked them up. The entire trail except for at each end is in the woods so we could only put them down by the beginning, but I bet that might work! Thank you!

Okay... gee im not sure. I think @Barnette has a sensor that has dogs bark when it goes off for bear. That may work for fox? Have you tried some of those high pitched dog screaming sounds?

We have two ultrasonic repellers in the closet. We pulled them because it bothers the dogs, cats, chickens, etc. Maybe that far away it wouldn't bother anyone, but I do want the dogs to go down there and they'd set it off.
