Premature chick and burst yolk

Update, Powder did not do well out of the incubator and separate from the other chicks, Powder is still alive but has been placed back in the incubator, we found her motionless in the little area we put her in, she was still alive but once placed back in the incubator she started cheeping and moving again, we will keep a close eye on her as she recovers from this, we may have to wait till either the yolk falls off and she can go in with the other chicks or till she is bigger and can maintain a little more heat than she can now

Also, does anyone know how long it takes for a dried burst yolk to fall off? Wanting to know so I can figure out when it should fall off
I'm sorry she didn't do well in the brooder, it sounds like she may not have been getting enough heat.

It's good that she can have the extra warmth of the incubator for now. Do you have any poultry vitamins? You are in AU, so Nettex Poultry Power Drops (used to be Nutridrops)is probably the closest thing I can think of. If you have that, give her 1-2drops twice a day.

Is she able to eat/drink?

I do not know how long it will take for the dried material to fall off. Hopefully not much longer. I hope she thrives.

:hugsI'm sorry to hear about Powder, you did all you could for her. Sometimes when chicks hatch with the yolk sac out like that, they fail to thrive.
I am doing my best to keep my mind off of Powder’s death, I have 6 other chicks to take care of and more that can hatch but it still hurts me a lot that she passed but I am doing my best
