This Silkie is a pullet. If it were a cockeral he would have the hackles feathers started by now.This silkie about 11 or 12 weeks. Is it male or female? Thanks

You have a good point. Silkies can be hard to tell till about 4 months.I’m not disagreeing with you, you might be totally right.
However my rooster looked a LOT like that at that age, and didn’t really start to develop his streamers until about 4 months or so.
I also have a hen who has a spiked crest, who most certainly lays eggs! Lol!
Sometimes it can be really tricky to tell with silkies, and a lot of time it depends on the breeding. His/her stance is more what makes me lean toward roo though.
But, we can’t see his/her comb real well either.
