ToMAYto ToMAHto grow-along

Not really. Right now we're thinking about seeing how our Easter hatch and the malines go and depending on how many pullets we end up with there we might just fold all the tomato pullets into the flock out at the farm.
Then again, my mother in law keeps offering to let us build a second coop in her backyard. I don't think she actually wants chickens. Husband seems to think she's changed her mind and actually does want the convenience of stepping out the back door and collecting her own eggs rather than waiting on a delivery.

Either way, right now it seems unlikely we'll keep one of them for our in town flock. But if we did, I keep looking at Rose. Then Cherry...then I think about how pretty Apollo is. And now I'm thinking it's a good thing I it's looking like I won't have to choose 😆

Uh ooh - and what about Cherokee? You sure do not want to leave Cherokee behind, don't you?!

Sadly, no. I had to work this weekend and my day off was spent cobbling together a nursery and driving to get hatching eggs for my broody Limu. So I haven't had much time to hang out with the tomatoes this week.
Maybe the upcoming weekend will be a good time for a photo session?

What kind of hatching eggs did you get for your Limu?

If nothing else, Sunday will be 6 weeks so I'll definitely be taking some pictures!

Limu got malines eggs.

I had never even heard about the breed until last year, but it turns out there's a breeder just a little over 2 hours south of us and they check  all of the boxes on a breeding project we've been lowkey trying to get off the ground for years.

Another big day for the tomatoes! I'm pretty sure I heard the first tentative attempts at a crow this morning!

THEY'RE GETTING SO BIG! I'm 95% sure we've got three boys and four girls.

Bumble Bee has started a small beard to go with his suddenly poofy cheeks!

Apollo is my current favorite. As I was doing these photos I realized that her feathers are the same color as the gazebo and woodpile! That's why I like her colors so much! They remind me of home!

Rose continues to be the pulletiest chick of the lot.

And today Cherry was the scarediest pullet.

So far Sungold seems to be the slowest maturing cockerel. He's gotta be part brahma.

Cherokee is such a cutie pie! I bet she'll be so pretty when she's grown.

Anne is undeniably a cockerel. He's so pretty it's a shame I can't keep him.
