Our chickens were truly a blessing in our lives.Only us who truly know the love we shared with them. Our experience we had with raising back yard chickens is one we will never regret or forget. They brought us so so much joy and sadness we had never imagined was possible in ones lifetime.Started out with 4 rescued baby hens,we babied them ,protected them 24 seven! My husband disabled so he was out with them always, hawk watching, you name it.Every morning he'd let the girls out just before daylight, they would all run to the nesting house to lay there eggs, and that always didn't go smoothly lol ,but my husband would get it settled loudly at times,to our girls,my husband was like there rooster .Seriously ,I don't think anybody could understand truly what I mean,he was around his flock always .One decided to go broody on us,I felt sorry for her,no fertilized eggs,so I went got six eggs that were.4 hatched, there was Richard,Bruce,Roblain, and Blickety.2 rooster and 2 hens all so precious. We now are down to 2 hens 1 rooster which are Richards and our first hens ,mu husband don't want no more heart aches,so when these have passed we will be done raising chicken .sad
