If all have 5 toes, they’re all silkies. They do all have the extra toe. The difference is the smaller one has the "pink" or nude beak and skin and the larger ones have black skin and beaks.

Not necessarily, combined with all the other characteristics that points to another 5 toed breed such as faverolle, etc that could have easily gotten mixed into the binIf all have 5 toes, they’re all silkies.
A Hatchery that sells Faverolles bantams? I don’t think so. But yes in other cases you’re correct. Not necessarily, combined with all the other characteristics that points to another 5 toed breed such as faverolle, etc that could have easily gotten mixed into the bin
I never said Bantam… you'll note I actually said could be placed in the wrong bin. And actually the hatchery great favorolle chicks that I have received in the last couple of shipments have all been very small compared to the large fowl chicks that they have shipped with...as in could get dumped into the bantam bin, especially if person unpacking isnt paying attention.A Hatchery that sells Faverolles bantams? Meanwhile, the Silkies I got from a backyard breeder (who was not breeding to the SOP) were perfect in every way except some had 4 toes on one foot and 5 on the other or 4 toes on both. When I first looking into getting chickens a friend texted me and said she was getting Silkies did I want to split an order with her. I looked them up and they were adorable so I said I would. My surprise when I opened the lid on the tote of these 6 week old Silkies.

They may have has correct number of toes, black skin, and Silkie feathers but that’s where the comparison ended they ended up being 3x the size of my SOP Silkies I got from a breeder and they were not friendly and docile no matter how much I tried to win them over.
I am well and truly sorry that you chose to take my post that way, it was certainly not written with that intention. That is actually advice I offer everyone who gets into poultry, because this is such a common issue. Particularly in the stay in age of smartphones, it's an easy quick way to protect oneself from such frustrations to take a few minutes and become familiar with these smaller simpler characteristics of a particular breed because you cannot rely on people in a retail situation to necessarily know them all. Again what I said was not meant in any way to come across in the way that it was taken. I apologizeThank you for the condesending message. Even with reading and researching it would take years of chicken ownership to truly be able to identify chicks. Nowhere in my post did i indicate i was angry or upset. My post title was a joke. I dont care what kind they are, silkies or not, i was simply looking for a little help from the nice people on here as we all do from time to time, beginner or not.
