What breeds come in lavender?

Yes, any breed can be lavender, whether they have the genetic makeup expressed for it or not, each breed carries a variety of colors.
In some cases, breeds will use a synonymous term called blue, and they will look exactly the same.
There is a lavender guinea fowl....Orpingtons can be lavender, d'Uccles....Japanese, just to name a few. I would check around in your area to see if someone has them offered for sale and if they are the right color and breed you want. Also you might check with the American Poultry Association to get more information as you have lots of options!

I decided on am lavender Ameraucana when I was looking into lavender and blue chickens. I decided on the Lav Am because of the color, the awesome beard, and the blue eggs. She's got a great personality: friendly and a little spitfire...likes getting into places she's not supposed to get into, like the patio garden, but that's part of her charm.

So many.. man, I want them all! Actually I was blessed to find someone (robgray on here) who has Lavender Orpingtons!! I'm driving two hours this Sunday to pick two babies up..
I am so excited!!! <3<3

Glad you are getting Lav orps! I've had the pleasure of seeing one in person. So pretty. I drove 2.5-3 hours to get my Golden Cuckoo Marans, lavender Ameraucana, Swedish Flower Hen, Salmon Faverolles and Appenzeller Spitzhauben (deceased). I'd love to go get a lavender or blue Australorp (as a breed they are so sweet), a blue Faverolles and a lavender or blue Cochin.

Hey, some of my birds came from SHR! A friend of mine & I went there at least 3 times to get birds. SHR is really clean and we got very healthy birds from Missy. Good luck on your adventures on Sunday. Make sure you pack some water for the babies in case it gets warm. It's so hard not to cuddle the babies during the return drive. Their cheeps will just melt your heart. Have fun!
