What did you do in the garden today?

I never cut mine. I twist and pull at the base.
I've also never divided mine. I don't want to accidentally kill it.
Mine is a Victoria, which never turns red. You just have to wait for the stalks to be long enough. We're about there.
For all the rhubarb growers... have you ever split your plants? I think I need to split the huge one; it had 3 flower stalks, which I cut off. I'm thinking I'll split it this fall, after it goes dormant.

no watering due to rain so I can deal with animals. this weekend a friend will plow my big garden so next week will be a gardening week. seedlings in pots are getting bigger. peppers and yellow pear tomatoes are not ready to transplant. corn, zucchini, pumpkins, beans, melons and cucumbers will be direct seeded. okra will wait a bit. soil is not warm enough.

I've got 2 bags of attapulgite and hope it will help with drought.

I saw tiny carrot sprouts in my garden today! 🎉
Me too!!

Yes. Root was pretty huge. Got it out (they are in a raised bed) and had to use an ax with a hammer to pound on the back of the ax to get through the root. Totally survived the ordeal (myself and the rhubarb).
