What did you do in the garden today?

Got most of the empty places in the pea rows replanted with new seeds. Still need another packet to finish it off. They were good seeds, I just planted them too early and they were either eaten or rotted in the ground before sprouting. The ones that sprouted look good.

No gardening today. Snow and rain mix all day. No accumulation because temperatures are a few degrees above freezing. I put my first rain barrel outside to capture whatever falls out of the sky. I hope to get the gutter installation onto my “to do” list. My seedlings indoors are doing well. We are supposed to have 2 or 3 dry days but still a bit chilly. Tomorrow is laundry and bread making day so hopefully Wednesday I can work on the new garden beds. Also want to get the hoop frames set up over the asparagus bed.

all the eggs in the incubator were either duds or quitters. OH well, will try again next week.
They are fertile. Might have been the incubator.

My outdoor activities caught up with me. A Chiropractor visit is in my future. I saw what I believe is a wild cucumber up. The kind that grows in the river bottoms. Not a true cucumber. Patiently waiting on a bit warmer weather to graft plum and pear trees.

painted and moved the base for the grow out pen into the garden. We then took an hour to move the pen from the shop to the garden. It's an awkward shape and weight, over 200#, and we had to go over 120 feet. But it's there and secured now. Phew. I'm paying for it today.
