What is the genetic colorname for Pumkin Hulsey Gamefowl

Thanks Steve, yeah I know Paul has them, the ones that I am getting, my friend actually bout eggs or chicks from him so they are from his birds. And I thought that white color was called Butterscotches.

But do you all know what I would get when crossing a Pumkin (dark) roo with Butterscotch hens and vise versa ? I am getting some of both of colors.

You can breed dark to dark and get Butterscotch (WHITE) chicks because they carrie the WHITE gene so I would say if you breed White to Dark or Dark to White you will get both also, so what I did was sell all my white and keep the darks because more then likely you will never breed the white out of them but the more you cull and breed dark to dark you may start hatching more darks and not as many Butterscotch (WHITES).

A Clint,
If you are thinking about getting into Hulsey's I think I would get them off "cuda" when he starts to sell them...
He has some real nice ones. Here is a link on Hulsey's you will have to connect the ultimatefowl and the .com/wiki/index.php?title=Hulsey The software here at BYC wont let me post it as a link...

I'm not really "getting into " them. Its just that my friend has them and she is giving them to me becuase she is overrun with chickens and is trying to cut down. And I like the looks of them and figured I may try to keep like 2 trios around, just to have ya know. If I do ever decide to seriously breed gamefowl, which I doubt I will with all the other stuff I have, then I will start looking for better bloodlines and such, but thanks for the suggestion and I will keep him in mind if I do need some.

What strains to you raise ?

I myself don't have Hulsey but I plan on getting some soon..

But I do have Round heads, Grey, and some Claret/ Butcher crosses.
I like the look of a good gamefowl..

They are NOT henny feathered. You need to learn what hen feathering looks like. Henny varieties have FEATHER STRUCTURE like normal females. The only difference in non-sexually dimorphic varieties is the head and spurs. Tim

It depends on the degree of penetrance. Most hennie games that I have seen do not have sickle feathers. Pumpkin is possible as a hennie, but they would be colored as wheaten hens and you could not tell by appearance if they were Pumpkins or Wheatens. Tim
