Where to buy a SQ pair

I am looking for a sq silkie pair, I'm looking to spend $500-$1000. Could anyone point me in a good direction? Do I need to spend more?

I'm not sure putting a price on a forum is the way to go. 3rivers has it right, do a little leg work.

Go to a poultry show and pick up a trio of good birds. Don't throw down money sight unseen. That just stinks of desperation or scam.

Firstly, I'm not trying to scam anyone. How would I scam someone if I'm going to pay them?
Secondly, if I was indeed desperate I'd purchase the first thing that I came across. I have done,"the leg work", I'm just looking for suggestions on top of that. Maybe, someone could point me in a direction that would better suit me. I've done nothing, but research, plan and agonize for months .

The only reason I want to do this is to get me out of my comfort zone and hopefully help with my severe gad; I need something that forces me to actually interact with people; otherwise, I'd be fine with my pq. So, far the chickens have given me something else to focus on and it has helped.
Price doesn't matter, but that's what I can afford for the time being. Truthfully , I may get them and never take them off my farm if I can't work up enough courage, but either way I'm fine with it.
I posted pricing ,because I'd like to trust people not to scam me and ideally I'd see the bird/s before buying, unless it was a reputable breeder, then again hoping I could trust that person.
I also only posted pricing , because most people don't want to pay more than pocket change and I'm not one of those people.
***I'm not trying to be hateful or argumentative--there's enough of that out there, I'm only explaining my thought process. ***
