Wrath's Marans

Annnnd...I'm calling it a male.

Step right up, folks and place your bets, Wrath needs a NPIP cert.
😋
The reason I’m saying pullet is because those wings are very big for its age, plus there’s some shoulder feathering, which I’ve found pullets get first. But then again, I was almost certain Chanel was a boy for six weeks. Only time will tell, I also don’t know if I’ve heard of hens hatching with the head spot…

Yes the first photo is a good one. I do see what you mean. Maybe it’s genes from the silvers making the others paler, even if they are coppers. (Kong is the sire, right?)
Could be...I'm clueless. But I do noticed not much white on it so it's eye catching compared to the others.
Yes, Kong x Solo.. W/W had 6 more eggs from this cross. 1 hatched at least 2 days early, 4 were clear and 1 late quitter. This lone chick I found dead the morning after I placed 5 OEs under her. No explanation, I can only guess...failure to thrive or got crushed maybe?

So these 7 with Chloe are all we got so far. I may set more just for the fun before I move her over. Better than having to separate Solo back out, clear her out then wait for eggs again.

I've been wondering about this and what causes it and why it's sporadic.
It's a really neat anomaly nonetheless.
