Broody Quail

This is basically a "chat" thread. All of Kiki's threads are, lol. :lau

Paper towels are slippery you need something grippy on the floor. I use rug grippers that go under rugs and cut the size I need for the brooder. You can wash and reuse them. Also, you need to grind up the quail's feed. I use a coffee grinder, and it works perfect.

All 17 eggs that went into lockdown hatched and are in the brooder. :)

4 left in the incubator. I have 13 littles in the brooder. :)

Hi again! I haven't had quail for around a year now. I wasn't going to incubate anything through the winter... but I ended up putting some Jumbo Quail eggs from Ebay (Texas) in my incubator. I've bought some from her before. JMF Pharaoh, Jumbo Recessive White, and jumbo Falb Fee...

When you incubated was your humidity high? It made me think they aspirated on fluid in the egg and then got infected.

It's not a respiratory issue? They were hatched like that?
