I strongly disagree with this statement. Hatcheries have crossed different production type birds into the easter egger lines and that is why there are so many laying brown eggs now. They are mixed breeds.
You cannot determine after an egg has been incubated if it was fertile or not.
I have had two shipments this year that resulted in 5 total chicks and I hatched for someone else two shipments and got one chick.

I disagree, there are too many people with good lavenders to get birds that need that much work. Why buy an inferior product when there are lots of people out there with good birds.
UPDATED!!!!! I am changing my process, too many people do not reply in a timely manner or have failed to reply at all. As you know, hatching eggs are time sensitive as is the hours of operation of the USPS. I do not know day to day how many eggs I will collect and be able to ship. At this time...
All the extra birds are now sold. I have a list of people that are waiting to get hatching eggs. There are 7 people on it at the moment, however, some people do not respond and I skip them over and go on to the next person in line.
