Got a question for you all. This is the second night my three-week-old chicks have stayed outside. This evening I was making sure they were all fed and watered and two, one really worse than the other, constantly kept on chirping. The only time they would stop would be when I held them and then...
I was sitting in the yard petting a silkie today and my husband told me that chickens were just nasty and that I was petting it like it was an animal. WTHeck! Of course it's an animal!
I've been buying eggs from a local produce market for a year. A little boy raises chickens for FFA and I buy those. I'll never buy grocery store eggs again. Never.
My mom told me that when our chickens started laying that I might as well forget about sending some to her. She said they would be dirty. I told her not to worry about it, I wasn't going to send her any anyway.
This is so cute. I was holding my little girl's 3 week old silkie today trying to show it some TLC and getting it used to people. The two little fruit flies started flying around and Jewel, the silkie, stretched her neck out and snatched those two flies out of the air and made a snack. So funny.
