Hi.
If you want to fatten her up, you can feed her some quality cat kibble. Once she takes to that, she will probably prefer to eat that. She will eat whatever it is you give her . . . so if she is not eating the chicken feed, because she prefers corn, stop feeding her corn. It may take a...
I have had two broody runners . . . they decided to sit at the same time. They had small clutches (about 4 eggs each) and were very good at sitting. However, I personally think they sucked at mothering once the ducklings hatched and I had to take over a little bit for a while. Worth trying.
In my opinion, the difference is that candy is swallowed after chewing, while gum is eventually spit out. Well, at least those are the rules I play by.
I think it depends. Not every community has a large foodie contingent. Some areas do not have as distinct of a market.

NOPE! It started in Asia where people live with their birds, their birds being ones that range freely.
I've heard both. Never sure who to believe. I know that diseases DO spread better in close quarters, though. And doesn't vitamin D (from sunshine) help with immunity?
We would not want to present the health risk to consumers that could be associated with eggs from hens that interact with wild birds. We vaccinate our hens against Salmonella to provide increased assurance of product safety.
Well, there ya go folks. Their eggs are better because they don't...
I have had a few older ducks get sores on their feet. Even if they are running around in the dirt, etc. they heal up pretty quickly. Duck bodies have high temperatures and are less likely to get infections, etc. As long as their feet are clean, and their brooder is reasonably clean, I...
Priceless! I don't know if I should laugh or just feel sorry for them.
I think they would be ok without the socks. Ducks usually heal pretty quick and don't need a lot of fussing.
They are calling their eggs "Farm Fresh Eggs" too. I doubt they are that much fresher than regular store-bought eggs . . . just seems like false advertising to me.
