Nice Ganoi!! Pride&joy, it's mainly the body I'm loving with the Doms. Mine are doing quite fine. The stag went through a weak/sick spell for a couple days a week ago but is fine now. I haven't had any eggs for weeks though, gonna see what I can do about that. Otherwise they've been great...

My thoughts exactly. Not meaning to be rude about it, but, crosses and mutt projects - Not the same as Oriental Games.

Personally my only thing here, is, what's there to prove it purebred. The difficulty here is that with no standard or little info for Saipans, and them being quite similar to other Orientals, it is very hard to find out if you've got some sort of Oriental cross, a Shamo, or a true Saipan. Or...

The birds look beautiful, the male especially is nice and upright and well muscled and all, but yeah, that tail really is irksome. Saipans are pretty rare honestly, what you have may likely be some sort of cross, who knows. Beautiful birds but that tail angle is indeed not wanted for any Oriental.

I would be furious, that's for sure. But yes, it's perfectly legit to shoot the dog the next time it enters your property. In fact out here a rather harmless lab was shot because it was on someone's cattle pasture. Cattle. Not chickens or pheasants or other likely meals, but cattle. So I could...

Love them all but I gotta ask, is this a hennie or just a really well developed face of a hen? Beautiful bird but wow, that face is almost male. Very nice.

Very nice, all of them, Josh!

Nope, my original birds came from a guy who goes by the username sleepy. He now raises true purebred Ga Noi fowl, and the Shamos I got from him came from Jim Zook birds and I believe an imported cock. No hatchery was involved. I'm fully aware of this whole expert misconception thing, and I've...

No, that's not what I mean, I hope we don't think the "game" topic is coming to mind again, But by the way, what? Hatchery birds? Why does everyone think I had hatchery birds? I never claimed an expert, hardly, considering I've only had Shamos for a couple years, and my first birds were...

Or just click the little picture box above your message before sending it. Very nice though! I find over time honestly that I prefer the more performance bred vs show bred types but always want a little show blood in there to keep the upright position and low tail. Some Shamos don't have...

Sounds like here. Our winter temps are normally 30-45 degrees, but it can drop down to the 20's on really cold occasions. My Shamos handle the cold very well, as long as they're not new. If they're newly shipped (always from a warmer place) then I supply them with a heat lamp in their coop...

Yep. The white color is from the fact that whether your Shamo be dark, wheaten, BBR, whatever - It's Wheaten based, and Wheatens are white or yellow ( mine are yellow, true whites are white ) when born.

No, they'll (my chicks) be Wheaten based colors with barring. Basically Crele to the eye. White Shamos are pretty rare, actually. At least, from what I've known. Again, I think they're probably mixes, (yours) hard to tell for me. They're nice though.

The only bare spot I see on his wings is a perfectly normal area. I too when I first got Shamos thought it was because he was beat up as a chick, but it's actually a normal sign of a well developed, hard feathered bird. He looks part Thai to me but it is hard to say. His rather long and...

Incubator. I'm aiming to get one of the girls brooding eventually but only the crele colored girl has been laying lately, so, I'm waiting til I have both girls laying, then I'll let one set a good bundle of eggs. Color isn't all that important to me but I do and mostly my family does prefer...

Wow, long time no visit here. Well, congrats to the wins, very nice Asils, and very nice Asil cross as usual! A while ago my new Shamo pullets started actually laying, so, I got right to (even though they were pullet eggs) incubating some for myself, and just today I got my first few...

lol Isn't that the truth. It is sad but true, there's little knowledge in the showroom except in the game-rich regions, of gamefowl. And no offense meant to the artists out there but the illustrations also just don't portray the gamefowl too well. I don't want to come off as rude saying that, I...

I agree on the feeling out the weight yourself part, but I got one for the fact that I'm not that experienced, so having an accurate scale to hone me up does help. And, yeah, one won't always be accurate and correct in an experienced guess.

lol Reminds me of how many people out there don't realize it requires a certain breed to even be a suspicious person. My digital scale I believe goes to 40 lbs, maybe it's 20, but yea when I got it I just had to weigh everyone. Didn't get to that point but weighed most of the more important...
