I will do that today. Yesterday I was concerned about getting them to eat and drink that I thought lower was better. I did the brick thing last year when I brought home my goslings because they fouled their water constantly. The chicken waterer is still on a brick in their coop, for those nasty...

Thank you! And I believe that hatcheries will sell and ship fertile eggs for hatching. I just don't know if there is a minimum order. I love my ducklings and hope to get a few more hatches in this year. I loved the hatching process, and once the eggs were in the incubator I also had my kids help...

Yes, all 6 eggs successfully hatched! I'm a proud duck momma. These are my very first babies, laid by my flock, and incubated by me!

Thanks! This is my first attempt at hatching anything, so I'm nervous and excited. These babies are for my sister, she has 1 Pekin drake, 1 crested Pekin hen, and 1 crested mallard hen and is absolutely in love with ducks! She wants to increase her flock and loves the colors of my Cayuga ducks...

Thank you, I just did. My 3rd duckling just hatched and number 4 is starting to zip. Numbers 5 and 6 are still at external pip and resting. I can see movement and hear clicking from them. Number 6 did have difficulty breaking the membrane, it was dry, so I popped a tiny hole in it and wet with...

I haven't hatched chicken eggs yet, this is literally my first hatch ever. But duck and goose eggs require a higher humidity than chicken eggs, and take longer to hatch. Chickens I believe take 21 days, most ducks take 28 days, Muscovy ducks take 35 days I think (not sure as I don't have them)...

We are getting lows in the upper 30 low 40 right now. I think I collected these eggs that are hatching when it was 40-50 outside. I set 11 Cayuga duck eggs, 2 were infertile, 1 died early on, and it looks like 2 more died in late development. So far 2 have fully hatched, 3 have external pips...

I have a Cayuga duckling! He/she hatched last night! 4 more eggs have pips with one halfway through zipping! My first ever hatch, I am so exited. Sorry about the bad lighting, I just woke up, heard the peeps, and ran to the bator! I'll get better pics later.

I raised my goslings, ducklings, and chicks together. My geese get along great with the chickens, I often catch them grazing/hunting for bugs side by side. I have had 0 chickens drowned, but my geese have attacked the neighbors game chickens when they get into my yard. I have swimming pools in...

It is my understanding that the crest in ducks is a skull deformity and causes all kinds of issues. From everything I have read, you never mate 2 cresteds together as that leads to many ducklings dieing in the shell, and many ducklings that hatch dieing after hatching, due to the deformity. Even...

I was hoping to be able to keep them together. I only have the 1 Cayuga drake, 3 Cayuga hens, 2 crested Pekin hens, and 1 crested mallard hen. So far only the crested mallard hangs with the Cayugas, but I am betting that when the drake reaches full sexual maturity he will over breed the 3 Cayuga...

So today I got 4 duck eggs. This is news because up until now I thought only my older crested ducks were laying. The 4th duck egg indicates that my Cayuga ducks are also laying. I had counted on the Cayuga eggs being grey/black to tell them apart from the crested duck eggs. I really don't want...

I have a few questions. My Cayuga ducks just recently started mating. I have 1 Cayuga drake, 3 female Cayugas, 2 female crested Pekin, and 1 female crested mallard. The cresteds have been laying for months now, and don't hang around the Cayugas. The Cayugas were purchased this summer as...

I have had the same problem for nearly 2 weeks. I thought it was my phone acting up, then I thought, maybe I have too many photos uploaded already and deleted some. I am still having the same issues. Must be something wrong with the site.

Herman is a Cayuga mix. His wings are just like my Cayugas, they shimmer green, blue, and even purple in the sun. Cayuga ducks are solid black, with black bill and feet, so Herman is a Cayuga mix. He is gorgeous.

My Cayugas are taking off flying, and since they aren't full grown yet they get rather high. If they get out of my yard they are at high risk from mean human and animal predators. I clip my chickens wings, do you clip a duck the same way? Should I clip 1 wing or both? I just want to keep them...
