I wasn't sure if anyone saw my numbers because I wrote a pretty lengthy "article" on my hatch the other day...lol
BUT...I had 26 hatch out of 34 that were locked down! (& 2 that were DIS and tried to hatch plus one that was assisted and died later that day )
I came to post a miraculous chick story and I just saw iheartpoultry's story which is somewhat similar to ours!!!
I had a maran hatch and from the moment he/she hatched, it was sticky and finally needed assistance getting out of the bottom half of the shell. It was a sticky DISASTER. Super...
Finally have my numbers!! Had to write it all out before posting!!
i thought some might find this interesting - we had mixed lot of eggs to set and I thought some people might want to hear our results for comparison.
Our mix included some of our own eggs from our flock, some shipped eggs and...
Thank you!!!
And yes, I'm glad I helped - they're getting along fine now in there.
Very sad though as I didn't realize my last exchequer had partially zipped (underneath where I couldn't really see) and I'm 99% sure it's DIS now...not a good birthday gift darn it...
Thank you! Immediately took your advice because I know it's been trying SO long...just gently pulled to finish the zip and now they're busy pushing out on their own!! Thanks! Never want to lose any to something uncoils have easily helped prevent!
HELP - More successful hatches overnight but I think I have one that might need help!!
It's been partially zipped since yesterday evening and I've heard muffled cheeping but it doesn't seem to be able to make more progress than the half zip...
I was SURE it would be out by this morning but...
Yes my kids didn't see the 7th one hatch because they went to bed but they saw all the others! They're loving this experience! (Me too of course!!)
I moved the 7 to the brooder... Still hear cheeping in the incubator and eggs rocking and being zipped!
I've got one that should be hatched very shortly...should I wait and then transfer the 8 to the brooder or let it keep working in case it takes longer and take the 7 that are out for now?
I'm so worried I'm going to hurt the pipped ones but it's getting far too wild in there now!
Ok I've got 7 chicks out and they're jumping all over the other eggs constantly - I have several that are pipped still and 2 that are zipping...it's getting CROWDED and violent in there - when is the earliest and SAFEST the to start removing chicks to the brooder??!!
Unfortunately I've got about 10 external pips and a zipper ...hopefully they play nor and leave each other alone...one just pecked the other in the eye...already acting like siblings
Ok...so my two that have hatched will NOT leave each other alone - like pecking the crud out of each other and they're chirping like they're hysterical but they keep beating each other up!!! How do I get them to stop!? I'm afraid one is going to get really hurt soon!
