Mr pecker will be happy with all those girls to himself :) I have a few that get all the attention and the others are ignored hmmm, come to think about it only reds and my Blondie seem to be prime choice, the black feathered ones get left out
Thats great! good shade and shelter. We have cats in the neighborhood but they just hang out with the chicken. Now little chicks I wouldn't trust them around.
Ive lost 4 to hawks this week, 1 to a dog, Charlie never came back after escaping the run, and Blondie (the hen that was pecked nearly to death) is sitting on 7, I so need to candle its day 15 :) I'm so glad to hear your friends flock are on the path of getting better. I also lost 2 hens to...
Have you been able to get with your friends to see how their flock is doing? I sure hope they have started doing something different. Your flock has grown quickly since I was last on here :) all those pretty birdies!
New babies are so exciting. My girls should start laying sometime they hatched around my birthday in April they were my present, lol. Hope you have 100 percent success!
thats a real pretty bird. Aww latte is so big now, and yep your boy is definitely gonna be a heartbreaker. Sorry your girls haven't picked up the hint they need to lay.
Go babies go, you can do it! Show your pretty little fuzzy butts :) love hatching!
I still have quite a few more weeks to go before eggs, but its going to be funny to see what comes out, lol.
Are the eggs the same size when they first start laying as they are full grown birds? Im glad they're all doing well. And from what ive read on egg laying threads, if you buy eggs the hen usually steps it on her laying lol.
50 percent is good for first try, it worked for most of the chicks, just boys had longer time to sleep in, lol. Alicia should be very proud of herself. Tell her great job for me please.
Im definitely a nature child, love the trees, the plants, the wide open spaces, and blue or grey skies, sunny...
Wow thats a really smart idea Ben. Hope the cats stay away, I have a game cam set up to take pictures of coop and run area and I have one neighbors cat stalking the coop at night. Im not worried about it getting in but it does bother me that its there every night planning on how to get them.
