Blue Rocks and Rhode Island Blues

I purchased some Blue Rocks(BR) and Rhode Island Blues(RIB) from Mt Healthy Hatchery. I plan to breed BR roo over RIB hen and also RIB roo over BR hen. Anyone tried this cross breeding yet?

I think you'd produce 25% splash Barred, males, & splash females.

50% Regular Barred (Black Males), & Solid Black females.

50% Blue Barred Males, & Solid Blue Females.

Before I stick to my answer, are your Blue Plymouth Rocks barred?

The rooster is barred, the hens are all blue

mt healthy website shows pic of the blue rock rooster and it is accurate to my rooster. The Rhode Island blue is similar to the mt healthy pic of the RIB roo, but mine has more red in him.

So are you crossing the rooster to the Rhode island blues? If so all offspring will be Splash Barred.

Okay, the blue rock rooster over RIB hens will be sex linked.

The RIB rooster over Blue rock won't be sex linked since the girls aren't barred.

Both sides will make splashes, blacks, & blues though.
