So I know identification can be tricky...but this bird was sold to me as shamo, but doesn't totally look like it....is he asil, maybe hint horoz, tell me what you think?

Can really only go by what the breeder tells you they are, though some of his traits are not "shamo" like as for what one would desire, he does do the upright stance really well. I always gauged our shamo off of the ones Julia Keeling has as to what to breed towards. A quick search of her shamo images will give you great info as to what one would want their shamo to look like. As others said, nice looking birds though.

He's a good grade Samba I can see by the way the comb comes down the back of his head. Very nice and lucky to find one, they are kind of rare. Here's mine

Thank you for the kind words. I do think structure wise he is pretty good, but he has a much more stout beak, wrong wing carriage, and way too heavy...almost 13lbs.and 33" tall when in "lookout" position.
The breeder identified him as Turkish shamo, which really is not a thing, all shamo are japanese. So I'm guessing he might be Turkish hint horoz/shamo

Biggest to smallest- O Shamo, Chu Shamo, and Ko Shamo
