24 hour old chick with legs and feet issue.

From the second video, where he tries to walk and then weebly-wobbly tumbles back, if somehow he had a bootie with an disc for the soles of his feet, that extended back, behind the heal of his feet, so he can steady himself without tumbling back,... A little stable platform at the ends of his leg bones, rather than just teetering on the little ends of his leg bones as he does not appear to have a sense that he even has feet...
Like snowshoes for his knees... 🤔
Yo! That's brilliant! I'll have to rig something up for him tomorrow.
And no, he has no clue what the bottom parts of his legs are doing. I know he can feel them, so it's not paralysis, but there's a nerve disconnect with his brain. I accidentally pulled too hard on a foot feather that had gunk on it and he was not amused. So I know he can feel them. They just go all willy nilly and flop.

But snow shoes with padding for his knee joints, now, that's an idea!!

Seal certainly is a cutie. I hope he or she gets a little stronger with walking.
Thank you. He's a fighter, and so am I. We are gonna figure out life together, and I'll never give up on him. The sling chair is helping build those thigh muscles. That was such a good idea. Thank you for suggesting it. I just wish he would eat on his own.

Yes, chickie-doodle snow shoes, exactly! You know how you originally had his little toes taped to straighten them out. Now insert a "snowshoe" disc shape... Very light, firm plastic...

I had cardboard discs I cut out of my protein shake...bottle? Container? You know, the rectangle cartons with the plastic lids individual protein shakes come in. That's how I made the booties for his curled toes.
I probably won't straighten or bind his knees, though. That way he can keep his legs underneath him. He seems more comfortable that way. Now I'm thinking how to attach to his tiny little thighs without binding his knees.
This is actually fun. I love this kinda thing. My AuDHD is happy for a creative and unique challenge! 😆

It is a unique challenge, to create an extension with platform that is very light and does not require any additional effort hauling around. Cardboard discs sound like a good material, stiff and v. lightweight. I agree, I would not bind his legs, either, but maybe there is a way to crisscross up with nonstick tape, like a gladiator boot... And for the front of his feet, the "disc" should not extend past his toes, IMO.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Like a thin X of vet wrap where his knee bends, leaving that space for bending. The "sole" of the shoes would only be as long as his toes in front and not tight because of the rear 4th toe. I would extend the back of the shoe as long as his thigh is tall, so he can get full balance. They'd be like a snow shoe/ski hybrid. When he's all grown, the 3D printer could make them like cleats! So he can scratch like a chicken should!
This would be easier if he was a bit bigger and I wasn't working with a supper fluff covered set of legs. 😆
Of course he had to be a cochin and not a Jersey Giant with nakkie legs. 🙄😆

You are indeed dealing with a micro-design, and feathered feet! May take several models, lol! I was thinking, you could attach stirrups, so essentially, draw out the "snow boot" then a stirrup coming out of each side, that you score lightly so it folds up the side of his leg and stays put, then use a little band at the top edge, securing the stirrups while leaving his little legs free. You may have to use a dab of glue to keep the "stirrup strap" in place...

Is there any way you can draw that idea and take a picture of it? I'm having an issue visualizing that.
