Animal attack

The air is less often now.
I did put a saddle apron on her as she was beginning to groom her wound. I wish was warmer outside so she could at least be outside a little bit.

Follow all the advice of the experts here. It sounds like you're doing a good job of managing the situation. Wishing you the best, I hope your baby fully recovers.

Washed the wound tonight and trimmed the feathers from the edges and the dried flap off. Washed with soap and water, rinsed well with water then rinsed with saline. Applied triple antibiotic ointment in the tooth tracks and applied silvex to the rest of the area. She wants to pick at it badly so she wears the saddle apron.
She’s survived one week so far.
I will be truly amazed if she lives and this heals.

It's been a week - amazing job! I'm grateful to not have any experience with predator attacks and I don't know anything about their healing or treatment for such issues, but she looks like she's doing well. She has a stately appearance in the photo of her in the sink. Love the apron. Chickens are so resilient.

Thanks for the pictures. What is the purple color? Is that BluKote? If so, I would not use that again until she is with the other chickens, to hide the red in her wounds. The antibiotic ointment and other product should be enough. A homemade Tshirt could also be fashioned to cover the entire wound. I have made homemade chicken saddle/aprons from old polar fleece articles, cutting 2 wing slits to hold them on. She looks good in her apron. Is she still eating and drinking well? Could she spend some time inside a dog crate for some visits with her flock? Is she inside in a cooler area now?

Spray with Veterycin or sterile saline solution. Coat the wound with triple antibiotic ointment. Repeat twice a day to keep the wound moist. Do not cut the tissue away, @Eggcessive, @azygous or @Wyorp Rock will advise you further on that.
I had a chick that had one wing torn off. The bone was clean cut so no trimming. Cleaned with sterile saline and used triple antibiotic ointment worked. She’s all grown up now and doing just fine.

First night my neighbor who raises chickens suggested the blue-kote. I began the triple antibiotic ointment the next day. I tried silvex last night but it dried out quickly. I have a silver/manuka honey spray coming today to try that. I am also going to start an oral antibiotic (It’s easier to smell the stench on her today). I gave her tuna the other day and she loved that so later today I will give her more tuna. She is not drinking enough and she is eating but not a lot. I’ve had her in a dog crate in the house. I live in Ohio and I don’t think she could keep her body heat outside right now with her down, skin, and fat layers gone. Wind chill tomorrow in the single digits.
I put a mirror in front of her crate for company today. I will be moving her into a large metal crate later today so she will feel less confined and get more light and be able to move around a little more.
I may try the tshirt as she is able to get to her tail featherless wound edge and pick at it in the apron.
I stopped the aspirin for pain. Should I keep giving her that?

Update: 2 weeks and 2 days!!
She’s acting normal and clicking away. She actually acts like she’s going to start laying eggs soon now. Her wound looks the same to me. I need to wash her later as she tried to take a dust bath in the aspen litter. Good grief. The litter stuck to her wound. I am having a hard time keeping the wound moist. I am sorting it now with Silver Maruca honey spray and using triple antibiotic ointment daily. I made an extension to her apron to protect the wound from her pecking at it. She is calling and clucking like crazy and scratching all the bedding up in the crate. She’s ready to be returned to her family but I fear she can’t keep her body heat in yet and the open wound would be so susceptible to infection and further damage from the other hens.
