My favorite hen I noticed is doing this same thing. I have one other brown layer and I noticed her eggs are soft on the ends, they have plenty of calcium. I’ve never had a problem with my Rocks laying or eggs shells soft. I’m wondering if it’s something else causing this. The other 4 hens eggs are fine.

I would start a new thread of your own for more attention. I have seen soft ends in one of my hens in the past. She was exposed to infectious bronchitis virus, a common respiratory disease which can affect the oviduct and kidneys. Have you ever seen any respiratory diseases or frequent sneezing for weeks?

I have not noticed any sneezing. I notice this hen breathing with mouth open when she sits but not standing. Her belly is full like water belly so I thought maybe this is what is happening until this morning now she pooped and I can’t tell if it’s worms or what. I posted picture. it doesn’t move. Thank you for replying.

I can’t tell if there are worms or not. It may be urates strands, but the dark green dropping appears to be from not eating enough. Maybe you could separate them on paper or cardboard to look more closely. If in doubt, get a fecal float from a vet on droppings brought in, or go ahead and worm with Valbazen or SafeGuard.
