3rd picture down, oh it is bringing back the memories. I cannot do a 4th rooster, but, the urge is there to take a road trip. Now that is a example of a young BCM cockerel. He is giving Bubba vibes. Without even seeing him from the front I can already tell you he is a wide little dude and will be built like a brickhouse as a adult. His hackle markings are already coming in as well. Is he one that is just 4 weeks old as well? If so in the next 2 weeks his copper coloring will start appearing along his shoulders and back. Look at the feet, very nicely feathered feet. I like this chick.....I want this chick. If you do not keep him, someone on here needs to get him so we can watch him grow up. Yes @RoyalChick I'm looking at you. He could backcross with Tassels to make 2nd generation olive eggs. He would produce Olive eggers with calypso and the legbar girls.
I like this idea (I whisper) 😊♥️

Oh no which one crowed? If you tell me it is Holly I will cry.
No no no! Hahaha no it’s ok! I was talking about Clyde - he started crowing on 17 August 2024. He would have been 11 weeks then.

Holly and Jolly are coming 14 weeks now. And no crowing so far! But lots of egg song and growling at me hahaha.

I had some very happy neighbors last night.

I have sort of been hoarding eggs this last week. I did sell 3 dozen at the beginning of the week. I also sent my grandpa home with a dozen so he has 2 dozen at home to do him for a bit. I've been waiting on my sister to stop by as she has not visited in almost 2 weeks and she had called me Tuesday saying she needed eggs this week. She finally stopped by last night with her empty 18 count carton and filled it up with all the "pretty" eggs. She loves to bake and uses my tiny silkie eggs for egg washes and had only put 3 in it. I informed her she should take more because starting April 4th she will not get anymore for a while. Well, she filled up one of my empty 12 counts with the silkie eggs and picked 3 more big pretty eggs. Since Sara picked and choosed between all my neatly dated eggs I had 5 dozen leftover. I sent Rosie and Maddy on a delivery service. First one this year, all my neighbors who love my eggs each got a dozen for free.

The girls came back with 10 empty cartons they had been saving, 3 loves of bread to give to the chickies and this picture.

The picture and the bread came from 2 gentleman at the end of my block. The girls said they told them I should hang it on the silkie coop. I love the picture and it is now on my fridge. My silkies are their favorite chickens and they told me last week they were sad I had penned them up as they loved watching them play in my yard. One of them had silkies years ago. Last Sunday they caught me outside and came and visited. Not me, they visited the silkies inside the pen and came armed with raisins for treats.

It is very nice to know that not only do my chickens bring me joy, but others as well.

Thank you for the heart attack. I thought one of the dumplings crowed this morning.

I still stand by my prediction then that both are pullets, especially Holly. The older Jolly gets, the more confident I am as well that she is a pullet.

Hope so! Having another Roo to deal with would be very upsetting.

Meanwhile Georgie if full on broody. She only laid a few weeks again. What a little turnip!
