I joined their private FB page, apparently this is where you can actually see what they have for offer. You still have to stalk the page but it is a little easier to get them on that page. The main page is ridiculous, you have seconds to reply or they are gone.

People are truly a little chicken crazy this year. I think it’s worse here right now than the pandemic was for chicken buying. I went to both our local Tractor supply and to rural king today to pick up supplies and feed. 😱 It looked like the bread isle before a hurricane warning. I was able to get what I needed but my goodness. Not a single chick of any breed anywhere. Feeders, waters almost none to be found even wood chips were almost gone.

But yeah I am thrilled. Perfect for my daughter who is super excited and has been wanting one for almost a year now. Now to say a little prayer to the chicken gods that at least one is a pullet.

Yours are beautiful 😍 I will be happy no matter how the little partridge feathers out. It will be fun to watch and see what happens. I will take pictures as soon as we get them home tomorrow evening.
I was checking out Freys here again and they seem sold out of the more heritage breeds. Both POL and day olds.

Ready to lay only - completely sold out!

Buff Brahma
Buff Orp
Lavender Orps (I would have got a couple I love Laverne)
Speckles Sussex

The rest of the chickens they have are still available but not till Aug or later!

Just as well nothing available- it’s too tempting to get those Lavender Orps and Specked Sussex. Maybe a Brahma…

Have a great fluffy butt day everyone!

White clucks anyone?

There's nothing like it. Chickens are so entertaining, right from the start. You have a great selection!!!

Yep...that was me. 😁 I thought for sure Rural Mouse would know, but at least she knew where to go get the info! :yesss:
I've never delved into Delaware before. It's now on my rabbit hole list, but the dark partridge was there first. I did learn some things about the washer, but haven't been able to do more than look at the new machine. DH ran a small load of "lost" socks. Those should be paired up/disposed of now and I'm running another small load of new sheets for my first foray into how it actually functions. Trying to figure out how to run a gentle-bulky cycle to see if I can do the queen size crochet blanket or have to do more of a soak / rinse. Not actually washing that yet as drying it preferences are hang it on the deck rail and watch the chickens be skittish about it.

Tax pics, BFTP, while trying ti find a rail pic (can't find the drying afghan one)

Hey all! First time follower of this thread and I was recommended to ask a breed query here for all your wisdom. Thanks in advance! I bought this chick at my local Wilco Farm Store here in WA as a Delaware but it’s not feathering out as expected. We think maybe it’s a white leghorn pullet? A bit disappointed cause that’s not the breed we chose and she’s a BOSSY giant chick, seriously bold and pecky. 5 weeks old, comb is larger but mostly yellow with yellow legs and pure white feathers. Hint of pink wattle on the chin and not a speck of black or smut/barring. What do your experienced eyes see? Cockerel? Breed? TY 🐓

Edit: this is not my only chick, she is one of 13 in a mixed breed flock!
Describe giant. How much bigger than the others is she? A leghorn would not be the biggest pullet. White chickens are frequently misidentified as leghorns. It seems to have very large feet.

For funzies and cuz I know y’all love em- here are some of the others. The photogenic ones are a Sapphire Splash, Barred Rock, and a Buckeye. The rest of the flock is: Dominique, another Splash, 2 BCMs, 2 EE, Black Australorpe, Gold Laced Polish (who I know might be lonely as a single poof, we think he’s a boy and will be rehomed) and a Buff Orp. I am obsessed and wholeheartedly embracing my new identity as a chook mom🤪
Let's see that polish!

I did not know they had a private page. It really is all for the best. A drive to them for me would be about 4 1/2 hours one way. I'm not saying I would not do it if the time was right. Right now I am not ready to dive head first into show quality silkies. I currently have nice looking pet quality silkies. I have plans for them this year, and next. When I am ready to dive head first into show silkies they are top of my list along with Diva Girl Silkies as a source for chicks.

You know, you have your foot in the door. I do not know how old your DD is, but if she is coming up on the age to start 4-H in the next couple years a lot of kids show silkies.

I wanna see your Dominique ~ one of our friendliest pesty outgoing people-friendly chicks to adulthood. We got ours 3 days old & they weren't afraid of us humans right from the start:

That’s Maude she’s my profile pic! I love her she’s a lap chicken already! Need to get more portraits of the girls since they are in the coop now and less scared of me swooping in from overhead. I really like Maude the Dominque though - this was when she was tiny still 🥹
