With chickens, you can’t leave anything to chance!I found another one a small wee egg when I double checked….
And this morning there was another third egg in the bottom of the net I guess was well hide in the hay.
I made sure to close the top on the hay net today.

Beak noise methinks. I think it is clacking its beak.
What's this noise?Watching them is so fun!
Hmm, it sounds more like it's coming from the throat to me. I'll slow it down and see if I notice beak movement. Most of the facial movement I see is in the cheeks, like how when you try to talk with your mouth closed, your cheeks sort of puff out. At first I thought she was growling at one of the other girls but nobody else was in there! She was just making this silly burbling noise for about 5 minutes, seemingly to herself.Beak noise methinks. I think it is clacking its beak.
She's interesting...is being active so it's not a respiratory issue in my guess...just making broody/nesting sounds? All my Silkies have different throat sounds when broody, or ready to lay, or just happy talk. All of them are different...some squeak, some have gravelly sounds, just all different. Sometimes when one of the Silkies wants to lay an egg she'll fidget moving from nestbox to nestbox all the while squealing while other Silkies silently pick a box & thrash around mixing up the straw...all are different & they are all the same breed!

That's a happy concentration sound in my opinion. Mine did that in the days before going broody, or when they had a stuffed full crop and were getting chest rubs.
