Happy Friday!

Some fluffs from last night, a big breese butt and a fluffy orpington butt!

Chocolate is a PARTRIDGE orpington!!!

Finally, I accidentally dropped an egg putting them in the incubator, noticed and put a layer of wax on and fingers and toes crossed. It has a healthy chicklet inside

The breeder said she has had them hatch with pieces of shell missing, as long as the membrane is intact. She hatched one as an experiment.

Yes as long as nothing is leaking out of the egg you should be fine.

Thinking positive good thoughts.

Beak noise methinks. I think it is clacking its beak.
It’s a ‘I’m making nest, and it’s an awesome one’ sound. You will hear roosters making that noise when they make nests for the ladies.

I call it chuckling - they seem happy when they are making a nice nest.

I’m finding this hard to believe, but mama hen laid an egg today.
Her chicks are only a few weeks old and she’s laying eggs again?
What a prolific egg laying hen!
And she’s a little pain in the neck!
Is it time to separate her from the little ones? She wants out of the house so badly, will she be okay without them being with her? I’m letting them get fully feathered before putting them in the run outside.
