We love us some Polly/Pauly. Tell me… am I seeing saddle feathers? Crest still looks puffy to me but the hackle and saddle are making me scratch my chin!!

Behavior is still very hen-like and rather demure. 8 weeks and no hint of red wattle/comb either.

By process of elimination I found out Magrat was the one who laid the soft shelled egg, so I'll keep an eye on her. She's keeping up with everybody today just fine!

There seems to be a lot of yummy stuff out there - don’t think anyone ate any chicken feed pellets today.
It is hard to see in the photo but my ‘living gazebo’ is really taking shape. Pooh is at the edge of one of the arches and I tied a few more branches down today. My hope is to make enough of a tangled roof of branches that it will offer some shelter from hawks even when the leaves are not there.

A young fox came by and watched us but was wary of my presence. Reminds me I need to bait the electric fence in case the new generation have forgotten about the zap.
