OMG!!! Bigggg Eggg w/pic

I got an egg like that from one of my red sex links too this past spring. She started laying wierd eggs just before she went into a molt. I thought after that huge one she gave me she'd take a day off but nope. Got another regular egg from her the next day. Heres a pic of hers. It weighed 4.7oz. My hens lay jumbo eggs as it is, and they are usually between 2.3 and 2.9 oz.

Congratulations on your first TRIPLE!!! We get doubles prob every 20-30 eggs, but triples seem to come once a year, maybe.
Still waiting for an egg in an egg here too. One of these days!

I had a funny egg once that rattled when I shook it, so I was SURE that there was an egg within the egg and the outer liquid must have drained out somehow. So I called the whole family in to witness the miraculous egg being cracked open... and it turned out there was a toy dinosaur in it!!!

My husband and sons had found this toy egg that was the EXACT color, size and texture of my real eggs and had put it in with the others in the refrigerator!

An egg in an egg? That is way cool, in all the years I have never seen one of those. I do get alot of double yokers, but definitely remember how excited I got with the first double I cracked opened, the whole town heard about it, and not only once, but many times over! I am still talking about the triple yoker! LOL It wasnt up until 4 or 5 years ago that I got my first shell less egg. I was observing one of my RIR gracefully walking in the yard and without any change in her demeanor, out falls this blob, and she continues walking. I thought it was a mighty strange dropping so I approached it to get a better look at what it was. It was an egg, completely formed, but without the shell. I observed it for the longest time, just tripping out that I could actually see the yolk rolling around through the transparent skin in the palm of my hand. Now mind you, I am on a little farm with no other soul in sight. I look around to make sure nobody is watching me. LOL I smelled it, doesnt smell like anything. I debated for about 30 seconds what to do next so I squished in my hands and then smelled it again. Guess what? It smelled just like an egg...................... what was I thinking it would smell like?

I had one of those egg-in-an-eggs a few weeks ago. It was a HUGE egg from my RSL, and it did rattle when I shook it. The inside shell was misshapen and there was no second yolk. Very weird!
