That is a great way to show someone what Faverolles are supposed to look like.

The backwards neck feathering here is common in the breed and totally acceptable although some folks don't like it.

I hate all frizzles no matter what breed so not for me personally. But it could be fun for someone who likes them.

Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Those birds sure are nice but sadly not mine. All I have is a few blue and black Ameraucana chicks from Will Morrow.

Jakk welcome to the Faverolles thread. Glad to see someone with whites on here as not many folks have them! Nice salmons as well. Love how deep the keels look on those hens.

Both could be males but #1 could also be a pullet. Give them a few more days to feather in.

As soon as mine are fully feather they gotta go out. At least I have heater garage for them until then. Luckily the oldest group is ready to go out. But will have 25+ chicks in there again soon.

They are not strong fliers to heavy I think. My lighter breed hens can get out of our fence but the favs don't.

Sorry if it came off as harsh. I didn't mean for it to. But as we all know things you write on the internet don't always convey the feelings behind what your write. Just get frustrated as folks are right the majority of the posts on this thread are about EE's. No worries all breeding chickens is...

Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Hi folks. The birds pictured above are not Ameraucanas. Is there any chance you could move your discussion to the Easter Egger Thread? I started this thread for the discussion of SOP bred color varieties or project varieties of Ameraucanas.

    Faverolles Thread

I guess I am lucky my two oldest Faverolles hens don't take &*%$ from anyone else in the flock neither does my Faverolles male. Even the sexlinks get knocked around by the Fav hens that are twice there size. They are still sweet to me and it never passes beyond enforcing their top rank in the...

    Faverolles Thread

I have introduced other breeds here. The younger fav pullets tend to get bullied by the more dominant birds. As long as the coop isn't to crowded they should stop fighting after a while. When introducing any new birds there is usually fighting favs or not. I plan to have a mostly Faverolles...

5 Faverolles chicks so far. Another dozen eggs set. Will start saving again in a week. Hope to hatch as close to 50 as I can get. Slow going with only 2 hens laying.

Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

This is an enormous amount of health problems to have had with chickens. I have never heard of shipping fever. I agree that the person shipping in birds probably had something in the flock. Or that you previously had a health problem with the flock. Any bird that shows any signs of respiratory...
