How can I tell if a duckling is getting enough to eat? With my chicks, the crops are very easy to see when full but I can't seem to figure out the ducklings.

27 is my final count out of 32 eggs. I ended up with 18 Easter Eggers, 7 mixed brown layers (if female) and 2 Black Sex Linked Cockerels for this HAL.

Is that an Egyptian Fayoumi I see? :love they are totally on my list!

My eggs started hatching on Thursday with an actual due date of Friday and just as I was about to candle eggs and clean the bater, I found a zip in progress!

First duck out!!!!! ***I didn't include my duck eggs for this HAL These two chicks hatched yesterday morning to wish me a good day before work and I couldn't miss the opportunity to take this shot! So far for this HAL: 16 Easter Eggers 5 Mixed Chicks 2 Black Sex Linked Cockerels

So the chicks started hatching on Thursday for me and now the incubator smells but I still have 4 pips. I created a staggered hatch and have more chicks due Monday. Will there be a problem if I can't clean the incubator? I really wanna clean it...

22 out of 32 so far! Can't wait to get back home from work and see all the new progress! I'll try and post pictures later tonight! On a different note, the chick my 3 year old niece named "Tinkerbell" from my February hatch is looking like a boy :(

Well I'm going to bed now. 3 pips all eggs from my Bantam Crevecoeur hen. 3 chicken eggs rocking (from an EE, Jungle Fowl and Red Ranger hen). 2 duck eggs rocking (but I didn't count these guys in for the HAL because they were SUPPOSED to be due this past Sunday!)

I found that it didn't really work on my rooster. It just made him sound like he had a sore throat. I plan on retrying though on a different rooster.

Chin up! I had 3 0% hatch rates because of a bad incubator and I was really happy with my first successful hatch! And now I'm waiting on hatch #3! Seeing your remaining babies hatch will definitely brighten your spirits!

I saw rocking on 1 duck egg and 1 chicken egg yesterday. I think mine will start tonight or tomorrow morning :)

Just noticed DH mixed in the chick feed with the layer feed. He said he filled the bin two days ago. It looks like what I've been feeding is mostly chick feed but with layer crumbles here and there. I'll be getting flock raiser on Thursday to prevent future mishaps. So will my chicks be ok till...
