I use sulfur in my outdoor run area. I drop a quantity into the dusting holes. Wood ash,,,, I let my chickens do their thing in my outdoor ground campfire area.

Yes it is safe,,, Only drawback with sulfur,,,,,, If you handle sulfur dusted chickens,,, your hands may smell like rotten eggs. That is the smell of sulfur. Washes off easily. :highfive:

Whodat,,,, consider adding some garden sulfur, to that dust bath mixture. It controls/kills mites and similar creatures.
In my run area (dry protected from wet rain) where mine dust ,, I drop some sulfur into that hole. The next day,, I see that they dusted, and sulfur gets mixed into soil...
I found them here on a BYC post. They were about 200 miles distance from my home. It just happened that I go to Peoria every year for a Family style reunion. That was last weekend. It may have been just pure coincidence,,,, but I feel that there was some higher intervention present...
No eye issues at all. Just best photo I could snap showing both hens. They are bantams,, and not sure of breed. My best estimate,,,, a mix of Seabright , and Black Australorp bantams.

In somewhat recent times, I lost 2 chickens, and 2 dogs. All was end of life due to age. Still...
Crows are fine in chasing away other flying predators. They don't do it out of kindness to the farmer..... They do it to eliminate competition. While crows will leave grown chicken alone,,, they will eat baby chicks.:(
