    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

You won't find one like this male who was a reserve champion at a show. I have posted his picture before.

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I understood but there are a lot of people who don't know the difference. To some a chicken is a chicken and just for eggs. There was a show last weekend but I didn't go. It was cold and I'm still leery of covid because I'm an old lady with conditions.

I don't consider hatchery birds "pure". This isn't Ideal but most hatcheries flock breed.

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Years ago I got my original birds from breeders. They lay well and are a bit larger in stature than the hatchery birds. I sold some awhile back and some people asked what they were and I told them Leghorns. They were surprised at their size.

In poultry the females dictate the sex of the chicks. This may help some. https://poultry.extension.org/articles/poultry-anatomy/poultry-genetics-an-introduction/

I thought processing my own birds would be a savings and it probably is for a smaller backyard flock, but in reality I can buy a processed bird from the butcher down the road much cheaper than selling a male. For each male I sell is at least a bag of feed. I realize I feed them while growing...

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Generally my hatches are close to 50/50. I do grow out my chicks and keep the best and sell the rest. Most people don't care about the SOP. They just want eggs and a rooster to hear him crow or to protect the females which can be a crap shoot too.

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

We have a farm swap at our local TSC. Last Saturday I took 20 SC White Leghorns and sold them. I usually advertise on our local Craigslist what I'm taking to the swap. Others do too. Quite a lot of people come to buy. Probably this month I have sold around 50 males. It does help with the feed...

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

That couldn't have happened because they were quarantined for a month before I put the male in so even if they were with another male they should have cleaned out. One of the females lays a cream colored egg so I'm sure she has something else in her. These are my Leghorns. These are the chicks...

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I have a few mutts too. I bought three White Leghorn pullets at a show some months ago and put them with my male. Some of the chicks came out with either black or brown on their wings. Some even have Rose Combs. I noticed when I bought the pullets there was a Rose Comb that looked in body shape...

YouTube has a lot of good examples of cameras and the pictures they take and what to look for in a camera depending on the use. Most of the predators here roam at night so I wanted a camera that took good nighttime pictures. I do take videos so that was another consideration. Hopefully you will...

Here I am. I love my cameras. @speckledhen has a Stealth Cam, I have other that I have bought. Not all cameras are equal. Most take great daytime pictures but nighttime is another story. This is one I would buy if I was going to buy another one. The price is right...
