Hurting my head reading studies on behavior in chickens and I ran across a few on Tonic Immobility correlated to various other traits.

http://ps.oxfordjournals.org/content/91/7/1575.full

Anyhow this study seems to indicate "birds with less asymmetry and fear level have better flight performance than more asymmetric and fearful birds, whereas the ease of capture is not associated with fearfulness and asymmetry. Wing symmetry is the most important for landing accuracy and landing distance, toe symmetry being important for landing accuracy."

I have slogged through a few of these studies mostly concerned with feed ratios to fear, feather pecking and fear and so on and how meat/egg production emphasis breeding may have increased fear response in various breeds and thus unwanted other side effects in large flocks. But this one was interesting to me on a physical performance level, so I thought of sharing it as you all might find it interesting.
