They are just adorable.
Oh high and mighty Queen Aurora....
Me thinks it is time you make a break for it and run inside the next time the door is opened. You should be saving some glares for your humble slave...er...servant.

The Queen monitors the internet daily. I’m sure she knows everything already.Shhhhhhh![]()
I was thinking of her! Remembering your post with her unmistakable print! - Was it in the snow?I have never dealt with a broken bone so I will let others provide advice. I don't know if this helps but Aurora has spent her whole life with a broken toe that did not get set.

I sincerely hope you get the help you need so she gets help.
I slip Coco an aspirin once in a while. Her foot never healed completely and she walks with a limp. I can tell when she’s hurting from her foot.I was thinking of her! Remembering your post with her unmistakable print! - Was it in the snow?
Same foot, same toe. I'm not keen on trying to "reset" it before taping it down, which would inflict a lot more pain to do without having the expertise to do it correctly anyway. So many chickens do have broken toes and seem to get by okay. But I did read that a permanent crook could be painful to walk on even after healing.
My goal is to relieve current pain at least. Hopefully it heals more straight but I've heard many people say taping in a boot didn't straighten it. But the boot seemed to relieve her today, she was running around on it and scratching with it, which she didn't want to do yesterday. But it would have to be on longer to really judge (e.g. if she's limping again by the end of day as she was today after the boot came off).

Awww poor wee gal.I've been crazy busy and miss being on here regularly!
Annie has a broken toe. I think it is recent, and her foot is warm where her other foot is cool. I posted on the injuries thread but would love your input as to the best way to treat.
Her toe is turning sideways & under, she reaches forward in her stride and doesn’t want to let it flex at the back of her stride. Yesterday she would stand with her foot raised. Today I saw it once but think she’s more comfortable than yesterday.
I downloaded the "How to treat Avian fractures" manual, but didn't make a very good boot. https://theiwrc.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Duerr_Splinting_Manual_2010.pdf
It helped her, and she was comfortable on it, but it didn't last.
I won't try tonight, as I'd want to monitor it, but I'm wondering if a splint with vet wrap on the individual toe, wrapped around the foot to secure, would work? I did not have a premade boot but of course now have them on order. I could make a stiffer boot in the meantime, flexible styrofoam but a thin plastic lid underneath, and wrapped better.
Gave her liquid Tylenol last night, a bit difficult opening her beak and a sticky mess, then not seeing bruising today I gave her 1/2 baby aspirin which she gobbled up, about six hours apart, much easier. Thoughts?
