The sun is out and the snow has melted and Sylvie allowed me to catch a picture of her elegant Fluffy Butt.

Snow starts up again tomorrow night and pretty much every day next week.

I had to go on a rescue mission earlier. I went out to gather the first round of eggs now that my girls are laying and I spotted this.

At first this did not bother me at all, my chickens are all the time in the creek. I also have Rosie and dad home both sick. It would not surprise me if it is not the flu so I am a bit distracted right now. I come out to toss some scraps to the chickens about 45 minutes later and once again I am greeted with this...

That is when it dawns on me. That is one of my bowling ball cochins over there who cannot get more then a few inches off the ground when they try to fly. I also cannot figure out what she is doing on that side of the creek, it is actually up a little bit as we have had heavy rain off and on the last 2 days. Whoever invented crocs is a genius as I had to wade the creek to rescue her. That is Grouchy Gryffyn who does not appreciate me touching her and will bite me repeatedly when I try. Today she knew she was in trouble and did not move a inch when I reached down to pick her up. She did not even try to bite me as I carried her over to the other side. I have no clue how long she had been over in that spot the dummy. I also do not know what possessed her to get to the other side of the creek to begin with.
Once safely back on dry ground she immediately ran to one of the nest spots. I think I will have one of her first eggs of the season when I go back out in a bit.
