Neutered Rabbit With An Unspayed Female?

We have a 2 year old neutered bunny named coyote, who lives in a hutch and run outdoors. He is played with less in the winter, so we think he would benefit from having a friend. Which brings me to the question: Does anyone have actual experience keeping an intact doe and a neutered buck?

Calling all rabbit experts! Skin rash on my Lionhead?

Hi all, So I have two Lionhead Dwarf rabbits, and today I noticed a patch of what looks like eczema (I know, I have it on my hands) on Simba, our boy. It’s on his upper back just below his neck. He’s about 5 years old, he’s been fixed, and their generally healthy except for the fact that they...

    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes! I finally took the dive on March 15th 2018. Convinced the hubby to keep his promise to build me a coop. Mwahaha! I had one chicken as a kid, my dog brought her home and we had her for a few years, gave us really yummy eggs. (2)...

    New Zealand Mix

I bought some New Zealand breeders, but they have black ears. Is this a possible color for New Zealand bunnies, or are they a mix? If they are a mix, any ideas on what the other breed might be?

    Pregnant doe

so I'm still not sure what to do. My doe is 32 days past breeding, expected her to have her babies on day 30 but nothing. This is my first time breeding rabbits and they had 2 successful fall offs. She still hasn't made a nest and hasn't really ate anything since yesterday. Also the fur on her...

Considering getting outside show rabbits, help me decide

I've always wanted to raise an animal I could show and breed. I'm considering rabbits, but I'd prefer it / them to live outside. I live where it is hot in the summer and cold and snowy in the winter. I understand meat rabbits can be raised in these conditions and my chickens do fine. Would a...

I have been researching rabbits for WEEKS and can't seem to figure out what the best thing to do is. I'm interested in getting a trio of rabbits to use for meat. They're going to be fed fodder as their primary food source during the colder months and pastured weather permitting. I'd like a...

New to chickens & new to BackyardChickens, but loving it!!

Hubby and I started our very own flock in the spring of this year (2017). I had absolutely no experience with fowl, except faint childhood memories of my daddy having fightin chickens, and my uncle's farm where they roamed free & pooped everywhere. Bleah!! He talked me into it, and I agreed...

    Butchering Colony Rabbits in Winter?

If you have a colony of rabbits breeding throughout the winter, do you butcher them? I'd think butchering below zero would be a bit difficult. But, if you take the buck out during the cold months, that's half the year lost, for me anyways. How does this work?
