Zombie - Chicken just stands there. Like a statue... stays where I place her. Not moving to food or water. Bottom clean. Pullet, not egg bound. Eyes clear & open. Spent the night standing. 2nd day of zombie status... Only med given was a dab of Resilience.
Hen was fine... no signs of illness. Found dead this noon. Necropsy done, and pic taken. Upon opening cavity a purplish skin slid out with clear liquid & some blood. I thought it was the liver. Not! Gizzard was fine, 4 yolks & a soft shell egg, kidney good, heart good. Liver was in fact...
How long should I let her keep sitting? I had the eggs in incubator for a week, when not fertile, was going to scramble them, but felt sorry for the hen sitting on dud eggs so gave them to her. Should I remove them or wait until she tires of nothing developing?
My rooster's legs and toes are stiff. They are not discolored, yet. He has been hobbling all week. When he could not get the oomph to leap up to roost I knew he was in trouble. His wattles show frostbite as does his pea shaped comb.
I caged him with a lamp which he would bask under...
Sick Peachick is 1 month old today. It follows the other peachicks mostly and hardly searches for food on its own. I caged it with a lamp 3 days ago. Gave it Corrid in water for 2 days... Not very active, stays under the lamp. Today it is breathing with open mouth. Chest not rattling...
Chick quivers and shivers and has diarrhea. Several days of Corrid with no results. I brought her in and gave her 1/10 ml Valbenzen oral. She is in a tub with 40W lamp, chick starter(non med) and water.

With the intent to create my own flock of "jelly bean cotton puff" bantam Cochins, I boo-boo'd! I mistakenly thought that the BYC projects of buff columbians was another breed being crossed to cochins, so.... with this in...
Roo has a very swollen eye that I have been treating with terrimycin for a week, with no improvement. He is not getting better and need advice. I will start 1/2cc of penicillan tomorrow, then maybe cut back to 1/4cc. He has electrolites in his water and a buddy to snuggle with.
My adult turkey hen is sick. She has been rather lathargic last couple days. Today she hasn't left the roost. I lifted her down to food and water, but she flew back up to bed. Face and feces were normal. I noticed when she flew back up, she left yellow secretion behind.
She was wormed with...
