Hi all. Haven't been on here in a while, but still loving my Naked Necks! Thought I'd post some pics. Most are mixes to produce colored eggs!

Water is key to egg production. Eggs are mostly water and if the birds get dehydrated or don't have enough water, egg production is affected.

About feed: I buy a 16% crumble and a 22% pellet feed and mix them together. I have so many different breeds in my flock. Some like the crumbles and some like the pellets. Works well for me.

I've never eaten any of my birds (pets), but I have a family who comes and buys all my chicks because he says they grow so big. My rooster is a Brahma and he is really huge. And, Brahmas are the sweetest chickens ever! Beau is the best rooster! Never even gives us a funny look. My DH picks...

Haven't been on in a while! Been busy building our new coop! Old one: Tearing down the old one: New Coop: We are still needing to add some interior things....auto water system and more roost and fencing another run, but the chickens are in and they seem to enjoy it!

I went out to look at one of my frizzled NNs (a silkie mix) I found this white tipped feather near her back. So, you're thinking if I mate her with my SF roo I might could get some fun colored chicks?

Yipee! My naked Naked Neck who has been featherless since she molted last February is finally growing back some feathers! I was afraid I was going to have to knit her a sweater for the winter! She has been like this since Feb! Picture from today!
