Wow beautiful ^ Love the ducks in costume, very cute. My flock is ticked at me, they are locked because of the fox and the fact we will be out today.

I know the feeling Ren2014 The ducks I hatched, raised in my house and hand fed don't want anything to do with me, even after I dug a rather large pond by hand (not as big as yours) but my muskovy that I recently bought actually like me, the mama will come eat out of my hand, so strange.

Thank you very much. :weee Sense I have a number of kennels like the ones Amiga has, that's what I'll go with. Love the shower concept, the drain idea knocks that out of the park.

Anybody have water mess reducing ideas for adult ducks in the coop for winter? Last year I kept the water in the pen which was great, but I just built a new coop and I'm not positive I'll get the run put up in time (it's already snowing).

Well glad I'm not the only one. Emptied my pond and must have found a dozen or more eggs in the sludge at the bottom. Silly ducks....

I don't have a pic anymore but a giant version of a duckling waterer worked well ( hole in lid or bucket side, then lid on top)... I left the buckets out over winter and they cracked. Free and I can get more, but I really should have stored my summer stuff better :/

Not sure at all what happend just very glad the coop and pen are so close to the house. My best guesses are, the water level was out of reach, and trying to get to the water he some...

Mine were about as feathered as your describing when I moved them into my unheated greenhouse (5 weeks?) I had weaned then off heat in the house before this move. They went through -6C shortly after, I think they had a few night around zero before the really cold nights. About 2 Weeks later they...

A found mites on a chicken (the ducks and chickens live together) I'm most likely going to treat with invermectin in the water (in conjunction with some natural strategies and a major coop cleaning) what I'm worried about is the ducks drinking to much of the medicated water, thoughts on this anyone?
